Venture Trip 15 is a nine (9) day venture scheduled for November 18th through 26th. Flights must be scheduled to arrive before 2:00 PM on Saturday November 18th to Santo Domingo Airport. (SDQ). Departure is to be scheduled on Sunday November 26th after 2:00 PM. Flight costs are not included in the total cost of the venture trip. Our team will be happy to help you with your flight arrangements.
About the trip
The Batey Rehab Project Venture Program exists to create sustainable philanthropic entrepreneurialism by providing international travel opportunities for volunteers to design, innovate, create, inspire and most importantly experience life within developing nations. The Batey Rehab Project is excited to partner with the Batey Girls "Butterfly Project". This venture trip is a closed trip, open to only volunteers invited by our partners. This trip will be focused upon our women and girls within the Batey Girls jewelry program and the creation of beaded butterflies. This team will be led by master beader Sam Norgard and a small team of jewelry design alumni of Savannah College of Art and Design. This trip is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn incredible beading skills and work with an amazing team of women and girls who are victims of sex trafficking and domestic violence. Spend nine days getting to know our international programs and building relationships with our girls.
The total cost for this venture trip is $850. In order to confirm a space upon this team, a deposit of $150 is due within 7 days of acceptance into the venture team program. Trip fees in-country, including; ground transportation, accommodations, food, water, medical insurance and project costs. International airfare is NOT included in the total cost of a venture trip. Not included are passport fees, tourist visa fees, and any required immunization or travel medications.
We know how important fundraising is to our volunteers so we have emphasized on this aspect for our venture teams! 100% of your venture trip costs are tax deductible and we are happy to guide you in the best methods for raising your money! Volunteers will have access to our crowdfunding platform as outlined below. Your friends and family may also make cash and check donations directly to the Batey Rehab Project specifically for your venture trip costs. All credit card and debit card donations must be made through the crowdfunding platform.

Each volunteer who ventures with BRP will have access to their very own online and mobile fundraising platform! Upon acceptance and payment of your venture trip deposit, our venture management team will reach out to assist you in setting up your online profile. You will have access to your very own dashboard, where you will be able to manage your own fundraiser, post updates, share to social media and even thank your donors as the donations roll in. **Please note a 7% admin and credit card processing fee applies to all donations received through crowdfunding. This admin fee is paid to our partners. Volunteers may either raise they support total by 7% or pay the fee at the completion of their funding. BRP does not cover administration fees or credit card fees associated with any fundraising activities on behalf of volunteers. All donations are tax deductible.
Terms & Conditions
Applicants for BRP Venture Trips must be 18 years of age or older, unless accompanied by an adult or parent. Adult female and male BRP leaders will be on all team / trips serving as part of the Venture Management Team. All applications, waivers, and medical forms must be filled out and signed at least 30 days prior to departure. Applicant must hold a valid passport with an expiration date of no sooner than six month from the dates of the venture trip. Trip fees in-country, including; ground transportation, accommodations, food, water, medical insurance and project costs. International airfare is NOT included in the total cost of a venture trip. Not included are passport fees, tourist visa fees, and any required immunization or travel medications. Each applicant travels at their own risk, and must notify BRP and team leads of any and all medical issues, allergies, medications, and preexisting conditions prior to departure.
Applicant is responsible for the entire trip amount due and all funds must be paid in full 30 days prior to departure date. Fundraising is all part of this amazing journey and BRP offers a crowdfunding platform account for each volunteer traveling upon a venture trip. There is a fixed 7% fee attached to all donations that are received through this crowdfunding platform as BRP does not pay for credit card fees and platform administration fees. BRP can also assist with fundraising ideas, letter templates and other fundraising opportunities. Any amount above and over the cost of your trip plus the 7% fee that is fundraised will go into the BRP shelter and trade fund to directly support BRP's modular housing and Larimar jewelry programs internationally. Being a registered 501c3 non profit, no refunds are allowed or available for any funds raised by an applicant. Deposits must be paid on each deposit due date listed in description and initial deposits must be made within 7 days of acceptance to a venture trip.
Applicant must attend a minimum of two team meetings in preparation for their upcoming venture trip. These meetings will either be held via telephone conference or in a physical location that will be announced by the venture management team. All trip and team information is covered in the advance team meetings, it is very important to attend all meetings. No alcohol consumption or recreational drugs allowed. No smoking allowed. No firearms allowed. If any applicant is found to be in use or possession of the following, they will be immediately terminated from the venture trip and sent home at the cost of the applicant.
